Full Description

Saksham is an MHRD scheme implemented by AICTE aimed at providing encouragement and support to specially-abled children to pursue technical education. This scheme guarantees that every eligible specially-abled student admitted to an AICTE-approved institution receives financial backing, ensuring that disability is not a barrier to an engineering or technical career.

₹50,000 per annum for the entire duration of the course

Covers tuition fees, purchase of customized computers, specialized software, or modified vehicles

Eligibility Criteria

✓
Student having a disability of not less than 40%
✓
Admitted to a first-year Degree/Diploma course (or lateral entry) in an AICTE approved institution
✓
Family income must be less than ₹8 Lakhs per annum

Required Documents

Disability certificate issued by a competent medical authority

Admission proof to a technical institution

Aadhaar card and bank account details

Application Process

  1. Applications must be submitted via the National Scholarship Portal (NSP)
  2. Upload disability and income certificates clearly
  3. Wait for institution and nodal officer verification online

Important Information

•Unlike merit-based schemes with a cap, all eligible applicants who apply correctly under Saksham are awarded the scholarship.
