Full Description

Funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships enable talented and motivated individuals to gain the knowledge and skills required for sustainable development. These scholarships are offered to citizens of eligible developing Commonwealth countries, equipping them to make a significant impact upon returning home.

Return airfare from the scholar’s home country to the UK

Warm clothing allowance and study travel grants (where applicable)

Eligibility Criteria

✓
Citizen or permanent resident of an eligible Commonwealth country (including India)
✓
Hold a first degree of at least upper second-class (2:1) honors standard
✓
Unable to afford to study in the UK without this scholarship
✓
Commitment to returning home to contribute to the country's development

Required Documents

Proof of citizenship or refugee status
✓
Full academic transcripts
✓
At least two references submitted directly by the referees
✓
University admission offer (if already held)

Application Process

  1. Apply to a nominating agency in your home country (e.g., Ministry of Education)
  2. Simultaneously submit an application through the CSC's online application system
  3. The nominating agency shortlists candidates for the CSC to review
  4. Final selection is made by the CSC selection committee
