Full Description

To provide financial assistance to meritorious students from low-income families, the Ministry of Education offers the CSSS to meet a part of their day-to-day expenses while pursuing higher studies. 82,000 fresh scholarships are awarded every year (divided equally between boys and girls) to students enrolled in regular undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Eligibility Criteria

Scored above the 80th percentile of successful candidates in the relevant Class 12 board examination
✓
Pursuing a regular course (not correspondence or distance learning)
✓
Family income strictly less than ₹4.5 Lakhs per annum
✓
Not receiving any other government scholarship

Application Process

  1. Apply online through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP)
  2. Select the "Central Sector Scheme of Scholarships"
  3. Submit the form before the NSP closure date (usually October/November)
  4. Ensure the institution verifies the application online

Important Information

•Renewal requires maintaining at least 50% marks in the annual examination and 75% attendance.
