Full Description

The École Normale Supérieure (ENS) in Paris is one of the most prestigious higher education institutions in the world. Through its International Selection, it offers 10 places in the Sciences and 10 in the Humanities to elite international students. Laureates receive a monthly stipend for three years, a room on one of the ENS campuses, and obtain a master’s degree along with the prestigious ENS diploma.

Eligibility Criteria

Must not hold French citizenship

Must be under 26 years old

Must have completed at least one year of undergraduate studies at a foreign university (not in France)

Exceptional academic ability (ENS is known for producing Fields Medalists and Nobel Laureates)

Application Process

  1. Submit the initial application online
  2. The jury evaluates academic files and shortlists candidates
  3. Shortlisted candidates must take grueling written and oral exams (conducted in Paris or remotely) in their specific discipline
  4. Final selection is based on the exam performance

Important Information

•The entrance exams are famously rigorous. For humanities, tests can be taken in French or English. For sciences, tests are in English or French.
