Full Description

Established through a donation from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Gates Cambridge Scholarship offers full-cost funding to outstanding applicants from countries outside the UK to pursue a full-time postgraduate degree in any subject available at the University of Cambridge. Scholars are selected on the basis of academic excellence, leadership potential, and a commitment to improving the lives of others.

Eligibility Criteria

✓
Citizen of any country outside the United Kingdom
✓
Applying to pursue a PhD, MSc/MLitt, or one-year postgraduate course at Cambridge
✓
Demonstrated outstanding intellectual ability and leadership potential
✓
A strong commitment to improving the lives of others
✓
A good fit between the applicant's qualifications and the graduate program at Cambridge

Application Process

  1. Submit your application for admission to Cambridge and for the scholarship via the University's Graduate Application Portal
  2. Academic departments nominate highly ranked candidates to the Trust
  3. Shortlisted candidates are invited for a panel interview
  4. Final selection is made post-interview

Important Information

•US citizens resident in the USA have an earlier deadline (typically October)
•All other international applicants (including India) typically have deadlines in December or January
