Full Description

The Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) is designed to provide international students with opportunities to conduct advanced studies in undergraduate and graduate programs at higher educational institutions in the Republic of Korea in order to promote international exchanges in education and mutual friendship between countries. The scholarship is comprehensive and requires scholars to undertake a year of Korean language training.

Eligibility Criteria

✓
Citizen of a country to which scholarships are offered
✓
Under 25 years of age for undergraduate; under 40 for graduate programs
✓
Hold a high school diploma (for UG) or a Bachelor's/Master's degree (for PG)
✓
Maintain a GPA of above 80% from the previous educational institution

Officially apostilled/consular-verified transcripts and degree certificates

Proof of citizenship (applicant and parents)

Application Process

  1. Choose either the Embassy Track (apply via Korean Embassy in home country) or University Track (apply directly to Korean university)
  2. Submit required documents by the track-specific deadline
  3. Pass the first round of selection (Embassy/University)
  4. Pass the second round of selection (NIIED)
  5. Final placement and visa processing

Important Information

•GKS scholars must achieve TOPIK level 3 within the first year of language training to proceed to their degree program.
