Full Description

Knight-Hennessy Scholars cultivates and supports a highly-engaged, multidisciplinary, and multicultural community of graduate students from across Stanford University. It provides full funding for up to three years of graduate study in any of Stanford’s seven schools, coupled with the King Global Leadership Program, to prepare scholars to tackle complex global challenges.

Eligibility Criteria

✓
Must apply to enroll in a full-time graduate degree program at Stanford (e.g., JD, MA, MD, PhD)
✓
Must have earned a bachelor's degree within the last seven years (e.g., for 2026 intake, usually graduated in 2019 or later)
✓
Demonstrate independence of thought, purposeful leadership, and a civic mindset

Application Process

  1. Apply separately to the specific Stanford graduate degree program by its deadline
  2. Submit the Knight-Hennessy Scholars application (usually due in October)
  3. Finalists are invited to Immersion Weekend at Stanford for interviews and activities
