Full Description

The NMMS scheme awards 100,000 scholarships annually to gifted or meritorious students whose parental income is below ₹3,50,000. Students take a selection test in Class 8, and the scholarship is disbursed from Class 9 to Class 12, encouraging them to complete their higher secondary education in government and aided schools.

Eligibility Criteria

Must be studying in Class 8 in a Government, Government-aided, or local body school

✓

Must pass the state-level NMMS examination (MAT and SAT)

✓

Must have scored at least 55% marks in Class 7 (relaxable by 5% for SC/ST)

✓

Family income less than ₹3.5 Lakhs per annum

Application Process

Students apply for the NMMS examination through their respective schools or state portals
Take the Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)
Qualified students then register on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) to claim the award
