Full Description

The Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA) is a collaboration between A*STAR, NTU, NUS, SUTD, and SMU. It aims to attract brilliant international students to pursue a PhD in Science and Engineering at Singaporean universities. The award provides a vibrant, culturally diverse research environment with access to world-class facilities and researchers.

Monthly stipend of S$2,200, which can increase to S$2,700 after passing the Qualifying Examination

One-time settling-in allowance of S$1,000

One-time airfare grant of up to S$1,500

Eligibility Criteria

✓
Open to all international graduates with a passion for research
✓
Excellent academic undergraduate and/or master’s transcripts
✓
Strong reports from academic referees
✓
Good skills in written and spoken English

Required Documents

Valid Passport

Recent passport-sized photo
✓
Bachelor’s and/or Master’s transcripts and degree scrolls
✓
Two recommendation reports
✓
GRE / IELTS / TOEFL scores (optional but highly recommended for some universities)

Application Process

  1. Browse PhD research projects on the A*STAR website
  2. Prepare necessary documents and register an account on the application portal
  3. Submit the application online
  4. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews via video conference

Important Information

•There are two main intakes per year: January (deadline generally in June) and August (deadline generally in December).
•Make sure to clearly identify the A*STAR supervisors or university faculty you wish to work with.
